A family of four managed to escape unharmed from an early morning fire at their Conmee Street home.
Fire crews were called to the residence just after 2 a.m. Thursday.
Firefighters arrived to find that the homeowners and their two small children had already evacuated the building. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames, which were confined to the exterior of the residence.
But there was some smoke damage inside.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. An investigation into the blaze is ongoing.
Fire crews were also called to the Memorial Avenue Econolodge around 11 a.m. to battle a blaze inside a washroom of one of the motel units.
The fire was put out before it caused any major damage.
The cause of that fire is also unknown, and an investigation continues.
