THUNDER BAY -- If you live in newer neighbourhoods in the McIntyre Ward, you should stock up for a Halloween invasion of ghouls and superheroes.

A new map expressing concentrations of children aged 5 to 14 years shows neighbourhoods north of John Street Road and on the north side of Oliver Road near the hospital can expect the most trick-or-treaters on Saturday night.

Using 2011 census data, Vancouver software developer Jens von Bergmann created the Trick-or-Treat Onslaught Map. It details how many children live in every neighbourhood across Canada.

Von Bergmann's map also shows high numbers of young people in the neighbourhood north of Arthur Street west of the Thunder Bay Expressway and near the rail line in Westfort south of Arthur Street.
