SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. -- A Hudson man has been fined $2,000 for a hunting offence under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act.
Ronald Elliot pleaded guilty and was fined $2,000 for unlawfully discharging a firearm from a vehicle. He also received a four-year hunting suspension.
Court heard that on October 7, 2017, conservation officers contacted Elliot’s hunting party on Altimeter Creek, north of Lac Seul, shortly after Elliot harvested a bull moose. An investigation determined that Elliot shot a moose standing on the shore with a high-powered rifle while operating a moving motor boat.
