THUNDER BAY -- It's the time of year where people are busy donating food and warm clothes to various causes across the city but there's one group in need that is often overlooked.
The Thunder Bay District Humane Society is looking for donations to provide support to the animals in their care.
The organization faced an extremely busy year with a record number of animals being taken in.
Fundraising coordinator Cassandra Nordal said the situation has improved since the summer but there are some needed items that will help them get through the winter.
“We started the wish list because we want people to remember that it’s not for us it’s for the animals,” Nordal said.
“We are trying to get a lot of supplies that we’ve run out of – we need none clumping litter, and at this point in time, dry and we food, especially kitten food.”
Nordal added they are working on getting drop off points set up around the city.
