Hydro One customers face lengthy power outage

Power expected to be restored by 10 p.m., according to Hydro One release.

THUNDER BAY -- Hydro One customers in outlying communities have been without power for several hours on Friday night.

Crews have been dispatched in an effort to restore electricity to approximately 6,258 customers affected by the outage. Affected areas include Crooks, Oliver Paipoonge, Scoble, Pardee, Ware, Conmee, Hardwick, Forbest, Fowler, Gillies, Gorham, O'Connor, Blake, Pearson, Strange, Marks, Lybster and Dawson Road lots.

An email from the utility indicates they hope to have power restored by 10 p.m. The outage began about about 5:45 p.m. No cause is known at this time.
