Identifying two Raith-area collision victims will take time (2 Photos)

Two transport trucks were involved in a firey head-on collision.

THUNDER BAY — Ontario Provincial Police say it will take awhile to release the identities of two people who died in a head-on collision on Highway 17 on Sunday evening.

Two tractor-trailers collided west of the community of Raith, and became engulfed in fire.

The accident forced the closure of the Trans-Canada Highway for more than 24 hours.

OPP said Tuesday that they believe the drivers of the transport trucks are the only victims of the collision.

The coroner's office is working to confirm their identities.
