Ignace OPP arrest Calgary man wanted for questioning in double killing

Police say they took William Kincade-Miller into custody after responding to an assault call at a residence in Ignace, Ont.

IGNACE, Ont. – A 28-year-old man wanted for questioning about a May long weekend double homicide in Calgary has been arrested by OPP in Ignace, Ont.

Police say they wanted to speak to William Kincade-Miller about the killing of two men found dead by police in Calgary on May 21.

At the time police said they were responding to gunshots and investigators, after interviewing about a dozen witnesses, said they believed the two victims arrived at a parking lot in the area of 130 Avenue and 48 Street S.E.

A third man also arrived on scene and Calgary police pinpointed him as the person allegedly responsible for the shooting, according to a release issued last Friday.

Dead are 26-year-old Anees Ismail Amr and 23-year-old Colin Brendan Reitberger, both of whom called Calgary home.

Last Thursday a 20-year-old Calgary resident, Christian Joffre Ouellette was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Police at the time said they were searching for a second vehicle, believed to have dropped off the suspect at a gas station. The vehicle thought to have been used in the shooting was recovered shortly after the incident.

Kincade-Miller was believed to have been on his way to New Brunswick.

OPP in Ignace say at about 4:15 a.m. on Wednesday they were called to a residence in the Northwestern Ontario community to investigate an assault complaint.

An officer arriving on the scene recognized one of the occupants of the residence to be a person wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Kincade-Miller was taken into custody and Calgary Police Service members are en route to Dryden, where the suspect is being held.
