THUNDER BAY – An impaired driver who hit several vehicles on Monday in the Intercity area was arrested by Thunder Bay Police, who acted on numerous tips from the public to apprehend the woman.

Police, in a release issued on Tuesday night, said they received several 911 calls starting about 6:30 p.m. on Monday, about a woman driving erratically in a TD Bank parking lot.

The driver drove over several medians in the bank’s parking lot and refused to stop for concerned citizens.

The woman proceeded northbound and struck a vehicle at Central Avenue and Fort William Road. Police finally stopped the vehicle at Van Horne and Court streets and arrested the female driver and charged her with impaired and dangerous driving.

She was later charged with refusing to provide a breath sample.

Police are looking for a male who witnessed the incidents and assisted police in their attempt to stop the woman near where the incident began. The witness can contact police at 684-1200 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The suspect has not yet been named by police.
