THUNDER BAY – A 62-year-old man has been charged with drunk driving after allegedly providing a breath sample more than four times over the legal limit.

In a media release issued on Friday, Thunder Bay Police Service officials said a pickup truck was stopped Thursday night after an officer observed numerous traffic violations.

The officer was said to have been able to smell alcohol when he stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver, who was brought to the police station to provide a breath sample. The driver then blew four times over the legal limit, police reported.

The vehicle has been impounded for a week and his licence has been suspended for 90 days.

He will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.
