(EAR FALLS, ON) – On October 21, 2015 at approximately 5:01 PM, Red Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received information regarding an impaired driver on Highway 804 within the Municipality of Ear Falls.
A Conservation Officer from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) had stopped the vehicle during a routine inspection.
The OPP attended the traffic stop to assist the MNRF and found the driver to be intoxicated. The driver was arrested and transported to the Ear Falls OPP Detachment for testing.
A 63-year-old Ear Falls man has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code and Operating a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on December 10, 2015, to answer to the charges.
