Impaired driver strikes home

A north side home sustained minor damage after an impaired driver collided with the residence.

THUNDER BAY - Residents in a north side home received a scary and unexpected wakeup call thanks to an impaired driver.

Thunder Bay Police received reports of a single motor vehicle collision at approximately 5:40 a.m. Sunday morning.

A vehicle struck a Winnipeg Avenue home, causing minor damage. It was determine that the 24-year-old driver was impaired.

There were no reports of injuries. The driver was charged with impaired driving, operating a vehicle with more than 80mg per 100ml of blood, and driving a motor vehicle with no ignition interlock.
