Impaired driver with suspended licence crashes: OPP

After responding to reports of a single-vehicle crash, OPP officers charged a driver with impaired driving and driving while suspended

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – Officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an adult female driver with impaired driving offences on November 19, 2016 at 8:00 am. 

Members of the Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police, (OPP) were notified of a single motor vehicle collision on Kings Highway 71, in Chapple Township.  Subsequently; a 23-year-old Northwest Angle First Nation woman, was arrested at the scene and transported to Fort Frances for breath tests.

Subsequently the driver was charged with,

-Having Over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

-Driving while under Suspension

 The vehicle was impounded for a minimum of 7 days and he was issued a mandatory 90 day drivers licence suspension.  She is scheduled to appear in Fort Frances Court on January 17th, 2017. 

The OPP reminds motorists that operating a vehicle under the influence of any amount of alcohol is dangerous and jeopardizes your own safety as well as the safety of others. 

If you are planning to consume alcohol then plan to have a sober person drive you home.
