THUNDER BAY — Police have charged a Thunder Bay woman with dangerous driving and impaired driving after a Sunday evening incident at George Burke Park.

Officers, paramedics and firefighters were dispatched to the park in the 1400 block of Balmoral Street about 10:45 pm following reports of a motor vehicle collision.

Police learned that  a motorist had lost control of her SUV while exiting the park, and had struck several large trees.

A roadside breathalyzer test showed that the woman had more than the legal limit of alcohol in her system.

The 19-year-old was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.
