THUNDER BAY — Synergy North customers in Thunder Bay and Kenora will see a modest increase in their electricity costs later this spring.
The utility that serves the two cities says the Ontario Energy Board has approved a roughly three per cent increase in its fixed monthly distribution charge.
This will result in a total bill that's 0.86 per cent higher in Thunder Bay, or $1.02 a month, for a typical residential customer using 750 kWh on time-of-use pricing.
In Kenora, a typical bill will be 2.01 per cent more, or $2.46 a month.
Synergy North says the new rate takes effect May 1, 2022.
