Injured workers rally against consulting firm report
Injured workers across this province have handed out The Grinch who Stole Christmas Award to consulting firm, KPMG.
Rallies were held across Ontario and here in Thunder Bay Thursday, slamming a recent report prepared by the consulting firm. The Thunder Bay Injured Workers Support Group says all it wants for Christmas is for that report to be scrapped.
The group rallied outside of the local Workplace Safety and Insurance Board office, stating that the report recommends changes to the compensation system that will make injured workers problems worse.
Recommendations include limiting compensation to workers with pre-existing, but non-evident conditions, even if a workplace injury causes a severe disability.
The WSIB has promised consultations.
