For Innova Business Park, more roads will mean more business the city says.
Construction has begun on improving access to Innova Business Park in a $1.5 million attempt to bring more development to the park, which has been mostly vacant for more than15 years.
Extending Innovation Drive to Golf Links Road and Premier Way to the Harbour Expressway will add about 1.5 kilometres of road to the park. Having two more access points could attract diverse developments from box stores to institutional facilities said city project engineer Tom McConnell.
"The idea is that the better the access it will attract more businesses to the business park," he said. "There’s no question that any development especially large scale development benefits the city."
McConnell said gravel roads will be complete by the winter, allowing drivers to access the park in the next couple of months with paving completed next year. traffic along the Harbour Expressway and Golf Links Road may see some minor disruptions during the construction period he said.
