Innova Park gets another tenant (2 Photos)

The city is selling a parcel for $431,000.

THUNDER BAY — The City of Thunder Bay has sold another parcel of land in the Innova Business Park.

Council on Monday night authorized the sale of a 3.23 acre site near the southwest corner of the intersection of the Harbour Expressway and Premier Way.

The purchase price is $431,500.

A numbered Ontario corporation is buying the property, but its plans for the site have not been made public as yet.

According to the resolution passed by council, a zoning amendment will be required before the development can proceed.

The city recently initiated a study of whether Innova Park is appropriately zoned and designated

Current authorized uses include offices and light industry, but there has been some pressure to allow commercial development as well.

Most of the 71-acre business park, which was established in the late 1990s, remains vacant.
