Regional Supervising Coroner for Inquests Dr. David Eden announce Friday that an inquest will be held into the death of Moses Beaver.

Beaver, 56, was pronounced dead at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Feb. 13, 2017, following transfer from the Thunder Bay Jail.

An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act due to the circumstances of his death.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Beaver's death and a jury will may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
