Intercity Shopping Centre cancels Santa Claus visits

Mall management say they plan to cancel all public events, but the Salvation Army Kettle campaign and Toys for Tots will still go ahead as planned.

THUNDER BAY - Santa Claus may still come to town, but he won't be stopping at Intercity Shopping Centre this year.

Mall managmement on Wednesday announced it plans to cancel all public events this holiday season because of COVID-19, incouding the annual in-person Santa experience.

The Salvation Army Kettle Campaign, Toys for Tots and Holiday Alley will, however, still take place at the shopping centre.

"While we regret having to cancel these activities, ISC is committed to the health and safety of our tenants, guests, employees, and our community," mall officials posted to the Intercity Shopping Centre Facebook page.

"We will be offering promotions and contests that are safe for customers and their families to participate in. Make sure to check our Facebook, Instagram and website for updates, promotions and contests."
