When she screamed for her husband, the intruder struck her.

Thunder Bay Police say the 57-year-old woman had fallen asleep on a couch at her residence in the 100 block of South Kenogami Avenue.

After he assaulted her, the intruder fled through an unlocked back door, which police believe was also the point of entry.

He's described as an Indigenous man, about 25-years-old, six-feet-tall, 220 pounds, with short hair.

The man was wearing a light grey long-sleeved shirt and light blue jeans.
