MARATHON, Ont. - A woman from this Northern Ontario town has been charged with theft after an investigation into missing funds from a minor hockey bank account.
Officials with the OPP say an investigation began after the provincial police force received reports that about $15,000 from the Marathon Minor Hockey Association bank account was unaccounted for.
The missing funds had police focusing on dates ranging from October 2012 to July 2013.
As a result of the investigation, police charged a 36-year-old Marathon, Ont., woman with theft over $5,000.
The accused has been released on a promise to appear. She is expected to appear in court on July 24 in Marathon.
