OLG Media Release

Toronto, ON – Just in time for the holiday season, LOTTO MAX is offering 52 million reasons to celebrate. This Friday’s LOTTO MAX jackpot is an estimated $50 million with an estimated two $1 million MAXMILLIONS prizes also up for grabs.

Looking for gifts for the special people on your list? According to a survey conducted for OLG, it appears gift cards and lottery tickets are a favourite item to give for a majority of Ontarians:

·        Two thirds of Ontarians (66%) have given a lottery ticket as a gift.

·        In fact, lottery tickets rank second behind gift cards as the ‘go-to’ gift under $20 for Ontarians. And for the first time, OLG Lottery Gift Cards are available for purchase* at participating retailers.

·        Three quarters of Ontarians (75%) say if they were given a lottery ticket as a gift, they would share the winnings with their gift giver.

Since its launch in September 2009, Ontario LOTTO MAX players have won over $3.6 billion in prizes, including 48 jackpot wins and 342 winning MAXMILLIONS tickets from all across the province.

For each $5 play, LOTTO MAX players receive three sets of seven numbers ranging from one to forty-nine. Players must match all seven numbers, in any one set, to win the jackpot and the MAXMILLIONS prizes.

Players can purchase tickets at authorized OLG retailers until 10:30 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 for the draw that evening.
