RALEIGH, N.C. -- Thunder Bay's Jordan Staal has been added to the NHL's COVID protocol list.

The Carolina Hurricanes forward was joined on the list by New Jersey's Eric Comrie and Winnipeg's Anton Forsberg.

The league says players can be added to the list for a variety of reasons, including an initial positive test that has yet to be confirmed, mandated isolation due to symptoms showing, a required quarantine for being a high-risk close contact, a confirmed positive test or quarantine required for travel or other reasons.
