A judgement on whether a sexual assault case against a Thunder Bay man, for alleged incidents involving young boys, will go to trial is expected next week.

Jeff Paxton, 46, was arrested June 17 and charged for sexual assault for incidents that allegedly involved young boys between 1983 and 2004.

Police laid four charges against Paxton, who was a camp counselor at Round Lake Bible Camp when the incidents are said to have occurred.

Police had also charged him with an additional six counts last year.

Paxton appeared in provincial court Friday morning where the judge heard further submissions during a preliminary inquiry for the 2012 charges.

The case has been remanded to July 9 when it is expected the judge will make a decision on whether there will be a trial at the Superior Court.

Paxton was also remanded into custody until July 9 for the June 17 charges.
