THUNDER BAY — It took six years to finish, but the City of Thunder Bay has completed the staged widening of the Junot Avenue/Golf LInks Road corridor.
The last section to be widened to four lanes—John Street to Walkover Street—was reopened Sunday.
Work on that stretch began in the middle of June.
The improvements to the corridor started in 2013 with work between the Harbour Expressway and Oliver Road.
In 2014 and 2015, the stretch between Oliver Road and John Street was completed.
The final stage was delayed until this year because of a lack of funding.
