Patrick Kanate has pleaded guilty to manslaughter for his role in the 2010 death of 25-year-old Keegan Williams.
Twenty-year-old Kanate pleaded guilty on Tuesday afternoon during an appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay. He is now expected to appear in court on Oct. 20, for a sentencing hearing.
In September, 2010, police confirmed they were investigating the city’s third homicide of that year.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers had responded to a disturbance call on High Street South, near Oliver Road, around 3 a.m. There they found an injured victim, who later died from the stab wounds he had suffered earlier.
