Kenora OPP investigating fatal collision

At least one person has been killed following a collision in Wabaseemoong First Nation Territory and the underwater search and recovery unit is assisting in the investigation.

KENORA, Ont. - One person is dead following a motor vehicle collision in Wabaseemoong First Nation territory on Thursday.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police media release, officers with the Kenora Detachment, along with Treaty Three Police Service, are investigating the collision.

OPP said one fatality has been confirmed.

The investigation involves the OPP Forensic Identification Services, the Crime Unit, and the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin. The investigation is ongoing.
