Kenora OPP investigating sudden death

KENORA, Ont. - Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 20-year-old Kenora woman over the weekend.

Officers with the Kenora detachment of the OPP responded to a call from Kenora Emergency Services on Saturday at approximately 1 p.m. to assist after a woman was found in a wooded area on the north side of the city.

The woman was transported to hospital where she was pronounced dead. She has been identified as 20-year-old Logan Philipchuk of Kenora.

The Northwest Crime Unit, Kenora Street Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Unit, and Treat Three Police Service Crime Unit are conducting the investigation. A post mortem examination is expected to be conducted in Toronto this week.
