OPP in Kenora are on the lookout for an escaped prisoner.
Police say the man managed to get away Wednesday morning while being transported to the Kenora courthouse. He's been identified as 53-year-old Harvey Smith of the White Dog First Nation.
Kenora OPP, along with Treaty 3 Police Service, are also investigating a fatal single vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the vehicle left the roadway on Lakeshore Drive, near the Cameron Bay Bridge and sank into Lake of the Woods.
Officers with the help of motorists at the scene were able to pull the driver from the vehicle.
He was pronounced dead after being transported to hospital.
The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Robert Chisel of Kenora.
