The riding of Kenora-Rainy River remains an NDP stronghold.

Sarah Campbell won the riding with 10,752 votes, keeping the NDP-friendly riding orange for a fourth consecutive term. Progressive Conservative candidate Rod McKay finished as the runner up with 8,314.

Before Campbell’s win, the riding belonged to long-time popular MPP and former Ontario NDP leader Howard Hampton. Hampton had won the riding three times in landslide victories over distant second-place Liberal candidates.

This time, however, Liberals would be relegated to a very distant third place, having had only 2,173 of ballots cast in candidate Anthony Leek’s favour.
The Green Party’s JoJo Holiday collected 385 votes, while Charmain Romaniuk, representing the Northern Ontario Heritage Party, collected 219.
