Kenora woman killed in collision with transport

Highway 17 was closed for several hours on Sunday while emergency crews investigated the fatal crash.

KENORA -- A 73-year-old Kenora woman is dead following a fatal motor-vehicle collision on Highway 17.

Ontario Provincial Police say Mary Kozak was killed after her east-bound sport utility vehicle collided with a tractor trailer.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the transport was not injured in the incident, which occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, and the highway was closed for several hours during the investigation, which is ongoing.
