THUNDER BAY — The host Thunder Bay Kings have their second win at the All-Ontario U13 AAA Championship.

A hat trick from Cooper Disher and a five-point performance by Jace Voortman powered the Kings to a 6-3 victory over the Ottawa Valley Titans at the Fort William Gardens on Friday morning, the third day of the provincial tournament.

The Titans went ahead with the lone goal in the opening period, before Thunder Bay netted a trio of goals in the second frame to take the lead.

The Kings added another early in the third before Ottawa Valley replied with two of their own to make it a one-goal contest with 1:26 remaining. But the hosts closed the game with a pair of markers to add insurance.

The win gives the Kings a 2-2 record through the first four games of the seven-team tournament.

Thunder Bay's other victory was an 8-1 decision over the Kenora Thistles on Wednesday.

The Kings are back in action later Friday, taking on the Sun County Panthers.
