THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Kings move to the Greater Toronto Hockey League already appears to be paying off for some of its prospects.

Goaltender Carter George was the No. 53 overall choice on Friday night by the Owen Sound Attack in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection Draft.

When picking resumed on Saturday, defenceman Nicholas Holomego heard his name called in the fifth round, 85th overall.

George was 8-15-4 playing for the U16 Kings in 2021-22, sporting a 3.16 goals against average and a sparkling .923 save percentage.

Holomego, a hulking 6-foot-3 blue-liner, had seven goals and 20 points in 43 appearances.

The draft concludes on Saturday.
