Knife-wielding suspects sought in northside robbery

City police are looking for two male suspects in a northside robbery.

THUNDER BAY -- City police are looking for two male suspects involved in a Thursday morning robbery on the north side.

According to a police release, a 42-year-old woman was walking on Lake Street around 1:30 a.m. when two men emerged from an alley by Manitou Street with their faces concealed with red bandanas.

The suspects asked for a cigarette and demanding money while holding a knife.

The woman handed over the money and the two suspects fled northbound on Lake Street.

Police say the victim was not injured.

Police described the first man as an Indigenous man about 20 years old, standing 5-foot-9 with a medium build. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and black boots.

Police describe the other male suspect as an Indigenous man about 20 years old, standing six feet tall with a thin build. He has medium length black hair and brown eyes. The man was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and dark runners.
