KWG Resources, a junior exploration company, is helping the United Way provide some comfort to Dennis Franklin Cromarty students.
The company and charitable organization will be working with Wasaya group to raise money for a student residence.
KWG President Frank Smeenk said life doesn't need to be so tough for teens coming from remote communities to learn in Thunder Bay.
“Part of the plan was that they would like to live together in one place to overcome the culture shock of coming from remote communities and into a place like Thunder Bay and being billeted out homes all over a big city,” Smeenk told CKPR Radio.
The company is contributing up to $2 million through a program that allows share-holders to donate their flow-through shares to the United Way for the project.
