ST. CATHARINES, Ont. -- The No. 8 Lakehead Thunderwolves are for real.

The men's basketball team marched into St. Catharine's, Ont. on Friday and pulled out a 92-90 win over the No. 3-ranked Brock Badgers, maintaining their perfect record in the process.

The 3-0 Wolves were down 10 after the opening quarter, and eight at the half, but managed to claw their way back in the final two quarters, sending the game to overtime when Nathan Bilamu hit a three-pointer with 29 seconds to go in regulation.

Lakehead opened up a seven-point lead in overtime, but needed a Daniel Caldwell missed three-pointer at the buzzer to claim the victory.

Rookie Javier Fernandez led the Thunderwolves with 21 points off the bench, including 5-of-9 from distance.

Fellow Spaniard Eric Gonzalez had 20 points and 11 boards for the double-double, while Bilamu finished with 18 points.

Kwakwah Godsman and Isaiah Bujdoso had 14 points apiece to pace the Badgers offensive attack.

Brock (2-1) hosts Lakehead again on Saturday night.
