THUNDER BAY -- Officials from Lakehead Public Schools are inviting the public to their Outdoor Education Centre at Kingfisher Lake this Saturday.
The environmental learning centre on Highway 527 is used for day trips and overnight camping experiences for Lakehead Board students from Grades 1 to 12.
The kids go on hikes through the boreal forest, learning about nature, and identifying area plants and animals.
The open house will include snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, a campfire and free hotdogs and hot chocolate.
The event runs from 10 to 4 on Saturday.
Parking is limited at Kingfisher, so a free shuttle is also being made available.
