Lakehead Visual Arts celebrates 60 years

Sixty years is a long time for any group or organization to stay together, and Lakehead Visual Arts hit that milestone Friday. The LVA celebrated by hosting one of its biggest showings ever, bringing in 45 pieces of art from 29 of its members.

Sixty years is a long time for any group or organization to stay together, and Lakehead Visual Arts hit that milestone Friday.

The LVA celebrated by hosting one of its biggest showings ever, bringing in 45 pieces of art from 29 of its members. The pieces range from oils and acrylics to water colour and fabric art.

The group reached out to all of its current members to show up and speak about their artwork tonight at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery, and they're expecting a good turnout.

The opening reception is tonight at 7:30 p.m. and the exhibit will run until Oct. 27.
