THUNDER BAY – The Lakehead Thunderwolves gave the visiting Windsor Lancers a first-quarter scare, but couldn’t carry it through the remainder of the game.

The LU women’s basketball team opened a 27-16 lead after the opening 10 minutes and led 36-34 at the half, but were outgunned 38-23 in the second half and went on to record a fourth straight loss, falling 72-59 to the Lancers.

Kirpa Brar came off the bench to score 18 to lead the Thunderwolves in scoring. Ally Burke had 15 and Kelly-Ann Coulombe added 11, grabbing 16 rebounds for a second-straight double-double.

Mariame Dehkissia had 14 to lead the Lancers (4-3) offensively.

The Thunderwolves hit the road next weekend to take on the University of Toronto Varsity Blues, winding up the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule.
