Large quantity of cash stolen in KI break and enter

Police are investigating a break and enter at a business in Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation over the weekend.

KITCHENUHMAYKOOSIB INNINUWUG FIRST NATION, ON -- OPP are asking for the public's help as they solve a break and enter at a business on Tasona Drive, in Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, sometime between Sunday afternoon, June 7, 2020, and Monday morning, June 8, 2020, individuals forcefully gained access to the business' safes and removed approximately $80,000 to $100,000.

The OPP is requesting anyone with information about this occurrence contact the KI detachment at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
