Looking for a last-minute Valentine’s Day gift?

Thunder Bay’s Gentlemen of Harmony might just have the answer. For $50, a special someone can be serenaded by the group, complete with four-part harmony.

Group president Bill Murphy said there are 20 singers travelling all over the city Tuesday to bring the gift of song to people’s sweethearts.

On top of the four songs, the group will also give the person a rose. By the end of the day, they will have sung in up to 30 places.

“We’re just having a grand old time,” Murphy said Tuesday after serenading the people at the Monty Parks Centre.

One woman was so surprised when the group sang to her at a local coffee shop that she almost cried. People really seem to enjoy the tradition, which has been a part of the 45-year-old local group as long as Murphy can remember.

“It’s nice to see that people enjoy it,” he said.

“We can go anywhere as a group of four guys and sing to anybody anywhere…singing brings out a lot of joy.”

The group will be available until 9 p.m. Call Bill at 473-7333 for bookings.
