Ontario craft breweries can now offer more products in their retail space.
As of Jan. 4, the list of non-alcoholic items that can be sold in their stores has been expanded by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
Matt Pearson, co-owner and operator of Sleeping Giant Brewing Company, says these new changes really open up the doors.
Under the previous rules, the only extra products that alcohol manufacturers were legally allowed to sell on-site were items such as glassware, bottle openers, and coasters.
The updated list now includes artisanal products.
Pearson said the brewery is taking full advantage. He says they already have a number of products in the works such as beer bread mix, coffee beans, and jams.
