EAR FALLS, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police have charged an Ear Falls man after investigating a report that an impaired person was operating a riding lawn mower.

The incident happened Monday afternoon.

Officers from the Red Lake detachment located the suspect driver and took him into custody.

After further tests at the detachment, the 48-year-old was charged with impaired driving.

He was released on an undertaking to appear in court in Red Lake in September.

OPP say anyone operating a lawn mower or a vessel such as a boat, kayak or canoe while impaired by drug or alcohol is subject to a driver's licence suspension, a fine, vehicle impoundment, a criminal record or increased insurance costs.
