It was a lawsuit CLE officials said could threaten the future of the organization and the annual family fair.

But now, the legal dispute that began in 2009 has been quietly resolved.

Back in the winter of 2009, Thunder Bay Soccerplex owner Tony Colistro filed a $600,000 statement of claim against the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition because the board allowed soccer rentals to be offered at the neighbouring Sports Dome.

Dougall Media has learned that the lawsuit was dropped several months ago after the three parties found a compromise.

Colistro says he's glad they found an acceptable solution, which involved Colisto's Thunder Bay Chill teams moving into the Sports Dome earlier this fall. CLE president Lawrence Timko said the board is pleased to have the matter resolved outside the courtroom.
