THUNDER BAY – Officials at Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School say they’ve been forced to close the gymnasium because of a leaky roof and condensation on the walls.

In a series of tweets, principal Sharon Angeconeb calls for a new school and said her students deserved better.

In two videos posted to her Twitter account showed a school employee taking down mats placed against the walls for student safety in the gym, saying the walls soaked, the floor are covered in water, the roof is leaking, adding that two students have already slipped and fallen.

“It’s becoming an issue and it’s not going away for our school. It’s very sad for the kids. We’ve got to shut down the gym for future games,” the narrator of the video recounts.
