The building has been taking shape for months and on Tuesday Leon's Furniture held its grand opening ceremony for its new Superstore in Thunder Bay.

More than 100 people were on hand for the celebration on Fort William Road. Leon's invested more than $13 million into the 73,000-square foot facility.

Company president and CEO Terry Leon said the project shows the company's commitment to the Thunder Bay area. Leon added that it is a very large store for a city this size.

Leon said 50 new jobs will be generated from the Superstore. In addition to those jobs, Leon added that 15 local trade companies worked on the project during construction. The store opens officially at noon on Thursday.

This is Leon's 67th store.
