Seniors in Kenora, Rainy River and Dryden will soon have access to improved supportive housing services following an investment announcement from the North West Local Health Integration Network.

The North West LHIN has announced it is investing $420,000 as part of its aging at home strategy. The announcement was made Wednesday via video conference.

Dryden Age Friendly Network co-chair Katherine Campbell said the expanded services will allow more seniors to age in the comfort of their own homes, keeping them healthier both mentally and physically.

The Kenora Home for the Aged will receive $240,000 annually to provide new support services for 20 individuals.

Rainy River's Northwestern Independent Services will  receive about $120,000 to provide support services for 10 seniors, and Dryden's Patricia Region Senior Services is getting $60,000 for additional supportive housing capacity for five people.
