THUNDER BAY — LifeLabs blames "unforeseen circumstances" for the temporary closure of one of its three Thunder Bay locations for about two-and-a-half months.
The company has not responded yet to an inquiry from Newswatch about the reason behind the shutdown of its lab at the Port Arthur Health Centre on July 14.
A notice posted on the door advises patients to visit its other locations, on Oliver Road and on Arthur Street East.
The notice does not provide a date for reopening, but information posted on the LifeLabs website indicates appointments will be available again at the Court Street clinic starting Oct. 2, 2025.
Patients visiting the company's other two sites in the city have experienced longer lineups in recent weeks.
Early Monday afternoon, the LifeLabs website listed the earliest available appointment time at the Arthur Street location as being on Aug. 21, while the Oliver Road lab showed the next slot was on Aug. 27.
Both locations, however, also accept patients on a walk-in basis.
