THUNDER BAY -- There's been a change to the sight line along one of the north side's busiest streets.
The little house on the corner of Red River Road and Hill Street was demolished Tuesday morning to make way for an expansion to the EcoSuperior building next door.
EcoSuperior purchased the property five years ago, with a plan to renovate the house and turn it into a demonstration area but ultimately, it proved to be structurally unfit.
Eco Superior sent out a request for proposals to architects this weekend. Executive director Ellen Mortfield anticipates it will be at least two years before the addition is complete.
The organization salvaged as much of the old house as possible. Metal items were recycled while many other materials went to Habitat for Humanity.
