According to the Building Services Division, Granite Tops Incorporated on Eira Street was hit with a $12,000 fine on Nov. 25 for commencing with a commercial-industrial building addition without obtaining a building permit.

This follows a previous fine of $7,500 for the same project.

The building owner is still required to obtain the required permit.

A failure to do so could result in fines of up to $200,000.
